Now we are starting to make a promising project, which in the future will become the main source of my income. I've been choosing a domain name registrar all my life based on price. Used the cheapest options. Registered through FirstVDS and regod.ru. But this is not the case and I need a reliable registrar. I look towards reg.ru, who can say anything about this registrar? And in general, by what criteria do you choose a registrar?

If the issue is reliability, then you need to choose (we are talking about Runet zones, right?) An accredited registrar. Only they have official rights to write to the registry. The rest are nothing more than resellers, and when working with them, nuances are possible (a reseller can register a domain for himself). List of official registrars: www.cctld.ru/ru/registrators/
Of all the list, it is better to register in nic.ru or reg.ru. I recommend reg.ru because: 1) they have a software API that allows you to manage your domain; 2) provide free DNS server. Well, in general, more client-oriented.

I choose for the same price. I don't think it makes much difference to take domains from large registrars, even if they offer cheap prices.
They want to deceive - even reg.ru has overlays.
But of course, the highest trust in nic.ru

At one time, I could not get my money out with reg.ru for a long time. For me, it's easier to return money to the same WM wallet from which they came? But I had to run around to notaries, certify all sorts of papers, then send these papers by mail, spend half of what I wanted to return for all this red tape, etc.

I have been working with reg.ru for a couple of years now.
Impressions are good. Serious problems never arose. So I can only recommend for cooperation.
When choosing, the main criterion was reliability, so all resellers immediately disappeared (an extra link in the chain). The price was also an important factor - my 110 rubles for ru\rf suits me.
