How to choose hardware for an office miniserver?
There is a small office: 3 stationary machines and an incoming laptop. There was a desire to put a server in a mini-ITX case for centralized storage of documents, a 1C base and a web server-polygon. We will also contact you remotely in the evenings. For this, there is a white IP and a 2 megabit channel.
The plans and wishes are as follows:
1. RAID of two 2Tb 2.5" HDDs
2. Mini-ITX motherboard with a processor under passive cooling
3. If possible, a "quiet" external PSU
4. If it makes sense, then you can allocate an SSD for the system and software
In order not to screw up, I ask for advice about a particular hardware: are our plans realistic and what is suitable on the market?
Since we are in Kazakhstan, I first of all looked at the local network market satu.kz and drew attention to the Gigabyte C1037UN-EU motherboard. Seems like a good candidate. But I didn’t see anything sensible in the cases, except for the AeroCool Qs-102, but it has a PSU inside, with active cooling.
What to look for and what do you recommend?
