How to choose a separate hard drive for /home in Linux (5400 or 7200)?

The laptop has an SSD used for /. Since it is 120 GB, I want to expand the storage space by installing an HDD instead of a DVD drive.
At what speed should I pay attention to the disk? In terms of resource, temperature, power consumption, 5400 is preferable, but will there be a noticeable drop in speed compared to 7200?

There will be a drawdown. The resource and power consumption are not much different. But it will take longer to think, for me speed is a priority, I would choose 7200.

Depends on tasks. If it's content, then it doesn't matter.
I would put 7200 without options - it's faster. But my laptop is on mains 100% of the time.

I would choose volume.

I allocated a small part of the ssd under /home, and there are already symbolic links for directories where there is a lot of space (video, music, etc.). For that quiet 5400 head drive.
It is possible and vice versa, but you need to look for which directories require frequent access (browser cache, configs, etc.)

5400, otherwise there is a chance to mess with the connection, despite the assurances of manufacturers and many assemblers. 7200 is not adequately supported by all boards/controllers.

There will be no noticeable drawdown in speed between 5400 and 7200. A couple of megabytes of weather will not do when the HDD pings (in the sense, it positions the head and waits for the start, and again positions the head and waits for the continuation) up to a second without problems.
By the hour, in any case, you will lose somewhere up to an hour or two of battery life. If everything else is just as gluttonous, you might lose half an hour. In general, 10-20% battery life. 5400 will save a couple of percent, no more. But on the other hand, it is more resistant to external influences, much less noisy and this is already much more interesting.
