How to check if a group exists?

An application is created in which posts from different groups are collected by tags.
Groups are added by the user by id or name. What query to check that the group exists? It is clear that almost anyone can, but are there any special ones?

Use the groups.getById() method to get its basic information. A non-existent group will have name = "DELETED"and deactivated = "deleted"
