Read the Open Graph Protocol, Facebook and vk.com definitely support it, it will most likely be suitable for others, but there may be additional features, see the section for developers, everything is written there with examples.

Look at the social networks API, as far as I remember there were special parameters for this.
Meta tags. Google says something like
