How to change the input method from the physical keyboard on Android 8?

I have on my hands Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android 8.1.0 on board.
By means of OTG, I spurred a USB hub to it and stuck a mouse with a keyboard. Everything works, everything clicks and prints fine, but the keyboard layout does not change in principle. That is, in the settings in the physical keyboard, I checked the box to show the virtual one, and when you press Shift + Space, the virtual layout changes, but the physical one continues to print in the same language. There is no layout layout. Only one language can be selected, or the default is "multilingual input". Additional keyboards from the Play Market behave in exactly the same way. They nominally switch the language for all downloaded language packs, but only one goes to the input window.
