How to change the content of a text file that is hosted on the network programmatically?

There is a small project that shows prices for metals. Some are scraped from sites, some must be set manually. So far I have thought up only through the txt file, read it from the hosting (free). I want to make a separate client program to set prices not by manually changing the file on the server, but in a normal form. I tried using the FtpClient class, but the application crashed stupidly (changing hosting did not help). I know that it is very wicked, without database, etc. MB there is a simpler method, I will be glad to advice.
