How to change the color of the text on the signatures of the extension icons?

We are talking about stickers on the icon, where a couple of numbers fit, meaning something key, for example, the number of notifications, and in the case of ad blockers, the number of blocked elements.
FireFox has a wonderful function chrome.browserAction.setBadgeTextColor that changes the text color on the extension's icon. But there is no such function in Chrome (it is undefined).
How and with what is it better to replace it in order to achieve the same effect?
Moreover, in both browsers there is a function chrome.browserAction.setBadgeBackgroundColor, which regularly changes the background color of the text of the icon, but browsers have such a strange difference with the color of the text itself .
