How to change search from wordpress child theme?

I have a parent-theme and a child, I use the child accordingly so as not to change the code in the parent-theme, now I'm faced with the fact that I need to change search.php, but I don't quite understand how to do it. Should I just create a search.php file in a child theme and do my own search or what? Or is it somehow done with a hook?

Copy search.php, transfer it to the child theme folder and change what you need in it. If you need to change the search styles, then look for the child theme's styles file and change it there.
