How to change GPS on Android without switching to Mock mode?

There is such an application on android as Zelle.
It does not allow you to take action if the GPS is in MOCK mode.
Writes that the problem is in determining the location. Apparently it somehow determines the state of the GPS device.

I got full root access to the device and its shell. Maybe there are some ways to change the GPS at the level below?
