How to change (delete) a variable in which the version of Delphi is written?
The PC was running Delphi 7 with additional JEDI components installed there. Installed a trial version of RAD Studio XE5 on the same PC. After the end of the trial version of RAD Strudio XE5 - demolished it from the PC. When launching Delphi 7, a lot of errors began to appear related to the loss of *.bpl files. Delphi 7 - also demolished. Reinstalled and started installing JEDI components. An error occurred during installation . How to change (delete) a variable in which the version of Delphi is written? Or how to get rid of this versioning problem?

For such experiments, it is better to make an image of the system before any tests.
And so demolish Delphi 7. Delete what is left of these versions of delphi on the disk in the directories where they were installed and in system32.
Next, run the registry editor and clean the branches
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland
theoretically should help.
