How to change a specific vendor in symfony?

Can you please tell me how to "add" the desired function to the vendor? There is an Imagine library - I studied it for a long time, and came to the conclusion that it actually does not work with transparency. The same watermark is superimposed without transparency. I came to the conclusion that in addition to the standard paste method that imagecopy uses, you need to make a copy of it, in which Zahardkodil used the GD imagecopymerge
function in the vendor, which is not good. I'm not sure that the Imagine developers will include this in their code, since they seem to have discussed a similar issue for a very long time.
How correctly to implement similar "addition" in the code?

Fork the vendor, do what you want in your fork, and then use your fork ( indicating your fork in composer.json in the repositories section ).

What's stopping you from branching off from that lib and redefining what you don't like already in yours?
Alternatively, you can write a pull request to the authors so that they include your code for themselves.
