How to call a rebuild of the client if it is launched through the server?

There are 2 repositories. With client and server.
Everything starts through the server, but changes in another directory are not tracked, it costs watch only on the server directory.
They are linked together via npm link. As a result, the client is placed in node+modules as a package.
I need to track this case somehow.
