The domain of this function in a real field can be found from the condition:
2-7x 2 ≥ 0
7x 2 ≤ 2
x 2 ≤ 2/7
x ∈ [-√(2/7); √(2/7)]

If you just need to plot a function - take a set of points x0, x1,... xn , so that x0 is the left border of what you draw (well, for example, the leftmost point that fits on the screen), and xn is the right one. n - choose based on accuracy. i.e., for example, it makes no sense to make n larger than your plot area width (in pixels).
Well, then you just count, and connect adjacent points with segments. And do not care if you have an ellipse or a straight line or a parabola or even a sine.
