How to buy bitcoin?

I have money on the card, I want to buy bitcoins without a commission (or with a very small one) and put them away for safekeeping. What is the best way to do this?
I downloaded and installed Bitcoin Core, as I understand it, after receiving bitcoins to this wallet, they can be backed up. But where exactly to buy bitcoins?

bitcoin is not worth storing IMHO, there are more promising things like DigitalNote (XDN), which may well take the place of bitcoin in a couple of years,
but in general you can search by hand on bitcointalk.org or forum.bits.media
or buy on an exchange like exmo.com
