How to build WiFi access control service architecture on OpenWRT?
I have a task to develop a system that will allow users to provide access to WiFi with a time limit and consumed traffic. Apparently, OpenWRT is the best fit as a base for such a system.
The questions are as follows:
- where to start digging - there is no experience with developing anything for routers. Although I have a suspicion that this is more a Linux issue than OpenWrt per se. Is it possible to get by with little blood by managing system services from a regular service - if so, how? manage iptables dynamically, or something else?
- How to count the consumed traffic and monitor the connection?
- Are there any packages / services that can regulate the access of users with time / traffic quotas and can be finished to the desired condition?
- Is this firmware suitable for such a task or is there something more suitable?
