How to build beautiful graphics on the desktop?

Hello, there is a need to build a couple of beautiful graphs from a database (MySQL).
The trouble is that you need to do it not through the web, but precisely through the application, maybe someone knows how to implement it better, otherwise I didn’t particularly come across graphs.

If it's easier for you to use web technologies, take node-webkit to create a desktop application, and build graphs with gRaphaël or any other JavaScript library.
