How to bring your site to the Internet?

I wrote a site in react and built it, now I want to put it on hosting. Decided to try aws, I need the site to use the https protocol. I thought everything would be very simple, as I uploaded my assembly from the gitHub page and everything works for you, it turned out to be more and more difficult. I don't understand how to change http to https. Is it necessary to buy a domain for this? If I understand correctly, then you need to configure ssl certificates, how can this be done? What service would you recommend for hosting a website other than aws ?
