How to become a rockstar in programming?

Well, I've been asking myself this question for some time now. I have been working as a PHP programmer for 2.5 years already and have had some success - the salary is about the same as that of a senior (if you look at Kharkov), several people work for me. Yesterday I wrote to an English programmer, suggested outsourcing, replied - "I'm afraid you still have much to learn before I'd consider outsourcing any work to you.". It seems that I constantly use all sorts of new features, solve complex tasks, have been working for the last year only for foreign clients, but it feels like you are just another gray programmer sometimes drives you into depression. So far, I have only given birth to the idea - to take less work and do open source projects in my free time.
So how do you become a rockstar?

With php, you are unlikely to succeed in our time, honestly.
Having discarded all sorts of holivars, ruby projects are just a “rock scene”. Perhaps because most of the projects on the github and the github itself are written in ruby. Perhaps because of the ease of programming on it.

I have been doing open source for three years already, even one project entered PECL but before rockstar as before Christ.
I think you just need to join the appropriate team, again through OpenSource

It depends what you mean by "rockstar in programming". If you want to be known in your field, get your name out there. Then ask yourself a question: who is the rockstar in programming for you now? What did he do to become like this? Usually these are people who are not just involved in open source projects, but people who have developed something that was in great demand, quickly gained popularity, which was needed "here and now". Of course, it can be both a commercial project and Open Source.
IMHO the main thing is to do what you like and give yourself 100% to your work, and you will have everything you want.

In my opinion, it is extremely doubtful to become a star with PHP without a big project, go to work in some kind of Facebook contact and you will be happy.

In my opinion, the answer is obvious - you need to learn how to program on an electric guitar!
But seriously, you should understand that there are few truly brilliant people and the fact that you are not one of them is not the end of the world. An ordinary programmer is not a diagnosis. In the end, just go to study at the university - do you already have a bachelor's, master's, doctoral degree in Computer Science?
