How to become a real system administrator?
Good day. I work as a system administrator, but I have no work experience, the company is not big, and the tasks are not difficult. From the skill, only the name, and the oak itself is an oak. I don’t know a lot, but I’m learning and learning new things. Please tell me, can you advise literature or something from personal experience: what do I need to know in order to become a real sis. admin?
I would be grateful for your opinion and advice. Thank you in advance, maybe in a few years I will be advising here just as they advised me.
Respectfully to all, I.

If you want to become a real system administrator, first learn to know everything about your household at any time - how it works, at what moments it fails, how to solve problems with glitches. Take inventory and complete (as far as possible) farm documentation, learn how to maintain it and make changes as soon as something changes on the farm (change history is also useful). Specifically, the hardware and software configuration of all computers, servers, network equipment, printers, etc., a network diagram, preferably a power supply scheme, and for very advanced ones, other potentially dangerous communications (air conditioners, water pipes in places where, in case problems, something can pour on the equipment and spoil it, and ways to turn it off so that you can quickly find them). Then identify critical moments in the company's activities where technical downtime is undesirable, consider ways to reduce downtime when problems arise and implement them according to the most likely scenarios, and plan planned maintenance of equipment to reduce the likelihood of accidents. Be sure to implement a backup of the most critical data with a recoverability check. Literature and Google can already be viewed and read on specific issues that will inevitably arise during implementation. When you master everything and practice in reacting to accidents and learn how to maintain equipment in a planned manner in a timely manner, it remains to learn how to sleep at work and feel like a real system administrator. Learn scripting languages and standard html/css at a basic level, namely
html/css, php, bash, python, perl
In these languages, you should be able to work with files (create/delete, get a list, execute an external command), work with arrays data, parse simple outputs and return codes.
Then automate everything that is available at hand, for example:
Backups, Install
some popular monitoring system, such as zabbix, try adding indicators to it that you can find at work.
You can install a thread of a CI server (Jenkins/TeamCity) and do automation through it - this will help you to go to devops in the future.
You do not need to read books, but take iron and study / adjust for a variety of tasks.
