How to be (Task with phpbb)?

It's about phpbb. There was a forum on one machine. I made a backup of the forum database. I installed another version of phpbb on another machine. Deleted the basis created by it, interposed a backup. Now the forum won't load. Is there any other solution besides reinstalling? And what is the right way to move the base of one forum to another?

Aren't there scripts with database evolutions when upgrading the forum version? I don't believe in anything.
