How to back up OS X?

Hello.
I use it at home for OS X development, but because I am rather weak in administration issues, when setting up / installing new software I sometimes clutter up the system, or edit config files, which are then difficult to restore) The
question is: can I make a backup copy of a clean system, which will already have the most necessary software, which I know for sure, how to correctly install and configure, so that later you do not reinstall everything from scratch, but install this backup copy?

@Nodar

So is Time Machine. If its functions are not enough (in my opinion, there are even an excessive number of them), you can write a script that will collect the data you need and backup somewhere.
But still, if you want to take and then expand the backup, without extra clicks on the keyboard, then Time Machine will do it best of all

I will add about TimeMachine!
After updating the (serious) TM system, suggest to demolish the previous copies on the server and create a new branch of the backup history. Don't be scared, that's how it should be.
This is just in case you like to dig into your year-long histories of catalog content.
