Hello. I read horror stories that WP is a huge security hole. How to secure your site as much as possible when developing a theme from scratch and without good knowledge of PHP? What to read, study?

There are no absolutely safe solutions, and WP is certainly not an exception, but it is far from the worst solution. You can start with the same Wordpress codex , better in English, unless of course you are friends.
