How to automatically roll over your entire set of programs on a clean OS X?
No matter how OS X is praised, that it, like Windows, does not slow down over time - all this is a lie.
Slows down over time and OS X. I'm a geek and I constantly put a bunch of all sorts of programs "to see" and there is no sandbox mode in OS X .... well, to put it, and if you didn't like it, it was painlessly demolished and all the tails behind the program were cleaned. Now it seems that CleanMyMac gives such a feature. I even bought it. But it does not solve the problems of programs that are installed via the console, such as a database, etc.
Of course, I tried and use Time Machine ... but it is also very peculiar and not entirely predictable. And if you recover from it, TM pulls all the past garbage with it.
In this connection, periodically ... Once every half a year (for the sake of sports interest) or a year, I reinstall OS X from scratch.
After that, I spend another day to remember what programs I had, download them from the network (or the AppStore) and install them. Is it possible to automate the process of installing programs on a clean system?
So that he automatically downloads from their Internet and installs or takes a specific folder on an external hard drive and installs all programs from this folder? Somehow I see it for myself ...
PS I know about brew cask, but not all programs are there. And when using it, I encountered the fact that you also need to update programs through it, otherwise duplicates of programs of different versions are formed.

There was a similar thing, but with Windows. however, the solution is the same.
set up the system from scratch. within a week we carefully put everything you need and nothing more. bakapim (TM or dd).
then we restore, update the software if necessary (in this case, update the backup).
recovery with all your favorite goodies / settings.
ps why don't you like the sandbox for strange software? the same Parallels Desktop?
p.p.s. well, put hg / git and feed it to the root, explicitly make branches / commits (on a separate disk) - why is it bad, since "I'm a geek" sounded?
One option is to copy the profile folder and the software folder.
After installing OS X, simply return the previously copied to its place.
Even with PS rolls.
I have a little different.
On yandex.disk I have 800gb of space (at one time I got it for free)
Synchronization of applications and profile files occurs automatically.
When installing the OS, first of all I install the yandex.disk application, then the application synchronizes and we get a ready-made set of software.
There are many such options.
Well, on the subject of brakes, xs. Yosemite has been standing since the very exit. I constantly update, once a month I start cleaning.
Everything flies like an airplane, I did not observe the brakes. I also constantly install programs, delete them, play games, make websites, etc.
Although I'm sorry, I didn't notice the macbook tag, it's before ...
