How to automate cell "stretching" in excel/google spreadsheets?

Both spreadsheets have a wonderful function of multiplying the contents of cells to other cells:

But when there are tens of thousands of rows in the table, this "stretching" takes a significant amount of time. Does anyone have experience with automation?
