How telegram bot perceives and reads messages?

I am writing a bot in python with the telebot library, similar in functionality to https://telega.one/redirectsbot , but very truncated. Interested in how the telegram bot reads messages. If you write a certain number of messages to the bot, then how to make it read them one by one (that is, see them and you can interact with them further)?
