How secure is Joomla 3.3?

We are going to implement a project on Joomla 3.3. Heard a lot of "+" and "-", interesting, in your opinion, how safe and stable is Joomla 3.3? With visits of more than 10,000 people a day, will it lag and slow down?

@OneMarkt

I confirm that I have 17 Joomla sites on VDS with a total daily traffic of 7-8 thousand, several sites with the JoomShopping e-commerce component. CPU load 7-8%, database server load 9-11% (on the same VDS).
PS do not forget to put root rights on the folder with Joomla, in order to avoid accidental infection.

Of course it's not safe.
Update urgently - I wrote more on the blog and made patches

Protko @Fesor

if you take the stable latest version of joomla and do not shove extensions into it, everything is fine. Otherwise it all depends on what and how you use it.
