How safe and effective is the use of cloud storage?

I store some photos, videos and files in the Yandex cloud. I recently found out that they have unlimited storage for videos and photos, and happily uploaded quite a lot of personal photos there. A couple of questions arose:
1) Will these guys really store my photos for free and in unlimited quantities, or does free cheese only happen in a mousetrap?
2) is it likely that they will lose my files? Something breaks and I won't get my photos back.

1. Nobody, except Yandex, guarantees you eternal storage.
2. They had a jamb, the crooked version of the client under Windu even deleted system files - then people were given 200GB indefinitely.
I don't remember any more problems.

Well, read the agreement first. All moments should be described there.
Technically, they can lose, because everything is at your own peril and risk.
Always store all important data in 2 places at least
