How relevant is it now to study xml soap?

Interested in the question of the relevance of studying xml ajax soap for a frontend developer.
Some kind of tricky code is obtained if you write a request to receive an xml request for the soap server, then receive a soap response, then load an xml template that converts the soap response into html based on itself, and after all this we add it to the page.
And on the basis of all this, a number of questions arise:
Is it relevant?
Are there often projects with xml?
Does a frontend developer need to know this?
Does this apply to React?

Yes, it seems like JSON has been used instead of XML all the way.
You can probably live without soap :)
