How painless is it to implement the integration of a self-written CMS with 1C?

If the CMS is self-written, how difficult is it to integrate with 1s, maybe there is already a plugin? What problems may arise during use? At the moment, I just did an unload, that is, you unload the database from 1c to xls, and then in the admin panel you click to download the product, select the xls file and the contents are written to the database. Then you name the images as well as the product, upload the images and there is a button to assign, click on it and everything is OK, the pictures are up. Perhaps there are other ways? How did you solve these problems?

Integration of a self-written CMS is no different from a non-self-written one. We chose the exchange format, synchronized the state of the database. Did you choose xls? Works? Well, that means everything is fine.
PS Though it would be more correct to use CommerceML.
