How much to charge for computer repair?
Kind.
I think most habrazhites have friends who have friends and so on, not counting work colleagues, relatives and the rest of humanity.
More than once, I and you have been asked to help buy, assemble, repair, install, restore, and so on.
If the issue of buying a computer and components is solved quite simply (I have 2 stores where they give my “friends” a nice discount and pay a little more attention and care, and they give me an even bigger discount, well, they simply trust), but the question is how much same ask with people for their work rises very often.
On the one hand, on the box, and on Habré, stories slipped through, where they ask for 10 kilorubles for reinstalling Windows. So people pay!
On the other hand, conscience (who invented you then) does not allow you to take from friends or colleagues.
Rejection doesn't always work.
How do you, %username%, rate your help? Does anyone have an adequate price list or method of calculation?

Everything here is like that of prostitutes =) An hour, let's say 600 rubles. A slow computer is a client problem. Client asks for anal sex to put a toy that does not start - more to add. Something like this. The main thing is quality.
It all depends on how it was the first time.
If the first time they didn’t give money, then usually I don’t take money all the next time either.
If for the first time they gave 1000 rubles - the rest of the times, regardless of the number of malfunctions, I take the same amount.
On average, 500-1000 rubles.
There are different tasks, someone is “sick with dust”, someone just “broke” everything, and someone needs advice. It seems to me that the “price tag” should be made up of something, so just saying “3000 from you” is somehow wrong.
300-400 hours No more than 1000 ...
As a bonus - recommendations on what can be done with hardware, in terms of upgrade / replacement.
if the problem is for 5 minutes, then 100-200 rubles (depending on the distance of the journey) for Windows 500-600 rubles
On average, an hour is 700-1000 rubles. But often even complete strangers can be done for free, here, so to speak, you need to know where you can make a reserve for the future :)
It strongly depends on the region. In Moscow, 200 rubles, as I understand it, will not pay off the fare, but in the provinces it is quite normal.
Ideally, find out what the rate is in your city from companies providing similar services. With that in mind, it will be easier to navigate.
Considering that the road is on average 100-150 rubles and a couple of hours of time, then 500 rubles from 5 minutes to 3-4 hours, 1000 rubles (+ lunch :)) - more than half a day. But this is if the “order” is clearly not a commercial, home computer and is interested in getting to know each other without particularly mercantile thoughts. The same acquaintances do not disdain to take the same 500 rubles “for gasoline”, if you urgently need something (or someone :)) to take somewhere.
PS There are options, they invite guests to drink beer-vodka and on the sly ask to "look", if it's a trifle (+- 10 minutes, then I look, if there is no heat, that you need to figure it out sober :) )
A similar situation. Many acquaintances, friends who often need help. Starting, for example, with installing a new hard drive, cleaning viruses, removing porn banners :) from the desktop, ending with the selection of equipment, the same installation of Windows, restoring information from a dying screw, etc.
I hardly take money from good friends, they pay with beer or its equivalent :) I also try to take as little as possible from strangers. Perhaps youth is taking its toll. But sometimes there are such individuals for whom you want to cancel all moral principles.
In general, in our small town there are a lot of similar ads
If the case is quick and does not require "immersion", I do not take money even from strangers. Like, “put it in, pulled it out, went.” If the matter is serious, then I never took more than 3k,
even if it takes a whole day, because it covers the same amount of 1 working day, the round trip and still remains. As they say, working with a computer is not equipment for you :)
I have something like this:
Rearrange Windows with all the software - 25 LVL (1500 RUR), treat viruses - from 5 to 15 LVL (300 - 900 RUR), all sorts of little things - starting from 5 LVL. Sometimes I do it for "thank you". In very rare cases, I switch to hourly payment - 15 LVL / h.
Many take half as much, but I try not to lower the price bar, because it is unprofitable.
For relatives and closest friends - free of charge (for food :) )
PS:
I live in Ventspils, Latvia. This is a province (40,000 people). Prices for similar works in the capital are about 30% higher.
First, close friends. Then friends of friends. Then next door neighbors. Then housemates and so on in a chain reaction.
How they got me at one time with these requests. He began to refuse, there were offended and offended. Who even stopped saying hello.
And that's when I just started taking money and each time more and more. And the more I take, the more free time remains, and free time is priceless.
Now the stubborn compromiser has chosen a different tactic. He began to call and consult on the phone. Here I think how to take money for this? =)
As a student, close to 200 per hour, + the cost of a round-trip taxi (usually 200 rubles) for departure + lunch (all this was not put on stream)
For friends for free, for girls discounts, for girl friends by agreement)))
Close relatives - free of charge (relatives all the same)
Distant and acquaintances - somewhere 60% of my current salary (hourly) ...
Somewhere it turns out 400 rubles an hour ... Taking into account the road, of course. I value my time, and working with computers is still a pleasure.
True, I have a condition - so that if you need to install iron, they wipe the dust and put the computer in a place convenient for assembly and disassembly. I am allergic and I don’t want to sneeze from the dust once again, just like crawling on my knees under the table.
