Hello. I am developing my small but very proud site and the question arose, how many h1 tags should I use on the site? I understand that, logically, the heading of the 1st level h1 should be one, but there were articles where it was written that there could be several. It is also interesting to know where exactly it should be located? In the header of the site and highlight its name or at the beginning of the article. Looking forward to your smart and helpful answers.

And it's not explicitly prohibited in the spec either: https://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/h1.html

Try to use only one heading of the first level h1 on each page - usually the title of the article / page / the most important thesis is placed in it. And in a hat he or somewhere else is your personal business, because. design is different. (Of course, if you put H1 in the footer, it won't do much good.)
There are situations when there are several h1 headings on the page - most often for sites that have one such heading by default in the header (site name) and one for the article title. I try to avoid and/or correct such situations.
The best practice is to arrange the content on the page in a hierarchical way (using structuring and including the use of heading tags).

Use 1 time.
Do not use for designing through elements (logo, menu, etc.).
It is best placed right before the content it refers to. If i-shop - before the listing of goods, if the article - before the article itself. It is desirable that there are no other headings before h1 in the layout, i.e. the hierarchy was preserved (h1-h2-h3...h2-h3..)
