How many photos can be added to a media topic posted via the mediatopic.post method?

I'm trying to add a media topic via the mediatopic.post method. There is an example in the documentation where two photos are added to the topic. I can't add more than one photo. When you try to publish a topic with more than one photo, the post is published, without errors, but without photos. Are there any peculiarities when adding more than one photo to a topic? How many photos can be added to a media topic posted via the mediatopic.post method?
