How many people can work simultaneously on Windows server 2012?

There are vds for Windows 2012. There are different working software.

  1. How many people can work on this vds at the same time?
  2. Everyone will need to create a separate user? Can't they work under one?
  3. Can they run the same program at the same time?
  4. The load increases proportionally, each user +100% load on the server? That is, you need a powerful enough vds to work simultaneously?

1. if we are talking about RDP - then without licenses 2. With licenses - how many licenses to buy and how many resources are enough.
2. again - if RDP, then each individual. Otherwise, the second will throw out the first.
3. Yes, they can.
4. no. Read about calculating the required resources for a terminal server.

A lot
Yes They
can
Depends on what kind of load they create, the user can create plus a thousand percent of the load or maybe zero

1. Two in the admin console, the rest by the number of RDS CALs.
2. They can under one, this is configured in group policies, but not all programs will work correctly. For example, 1C writes to the user's home directory and swears when restarted.
3. See 2.
4. It is unlikely that all users will give a peak load on the processor or disk at once, but memory can be easily eaten. When calculating terminals exclusively for 1C, we included 200-250Mb of RAM per user. Plus 2Gb for system and 2Gb for shared services. Start a typical single user session and look in Task Manager to see how many resources it is consuming.
