Third-party fonts can weigh completely different orders of kilobytes. Therefore, the number of fonts is not important here, but it is important how heavy they are and how quickly they are rendered in the browser. Check out https://www.google.com/fonts for an example . There's a download speed for each font.

I advise no more than 2, and ideally manages with one.
