How long will it take to learn HTML 5 by specification?

I have a lot of experience in web development, but I use a very poor set of tools and lack theory! Actually, I'm thinking about a good, deep study of HTML5. Books are all designed for beginners, they recommend learning from the documentation.
How many months does it take to read and digest the entire specification with 1-2 hours per day on average? Has anyone had experience with this training? And should we wait until the HTML 5.1 specification is approved or learn from a draft? Or classic HTML 5.0?

Not at all, this is impossible, the human brain is not a hard drive, long-term memory does not store raw bytes in large volumes, associative thinking is necessary, that is, an understanding of the principle, therefore, it is necessary to study the possibilities of HTML in practical application, and the documentation is a reference book and nothing more, Why try to memorize it at all when you can just refer to it when you need it?
I had, but, thank God, a small one, every time in my brain protection worked in a timely manner and sabotage occurred, and so on until I switched to normal teaching methods.
HTML is not reworked in the next version, but simply added new features, it is worth studying them if necessary, and as they are supported by browsers, the largest part is still preserved from HTML 4 and even older.

Specifications should be reviewed when a question arises regarding the application of a tag.
I recommend starting with HTML5, getting to grips with semantics, media tags, and other features.

I believe that knowing the specification is a necessary thing! At first, everything was not entirely clear to me, but when I began to understand the basics of the web, html css js, etc. then more or less everything became clearer.
For some reason, in the Russian-speaking segment, everyone writes the same thing, that they say you don’t need to read the specification and memorize it, (I agree about memorizing), but I think every developer should understand what is written there. In the foreign segment, the opposite is true there, for some reason it is advised to read the specification several times, and most importantly, to understand what is written there. this is so by the way ...
ps: just think about what the specification was created for, and then you will understand whether it is worth studying the specification or not.
