How long does it take to become a web developer?

Good afternoon,
dear forum participants!
The situation is the following. I am 27, there was a life situation that prompted me to change my profession. I was quite successful in my (humanitarian, yes :) profession, but due to health problems, I came to the conclusion that I needed to change the field of activity, and I do it rather for the future, now there is no strict need to immediately change jobs, but I know that she will arise in the future, so I decided not to wait and relearn now, the sooner it is done, the better. Of all the options that I went through, I settled on programming as the most suitable option in my situation, albeit not an easy one. Because of the need to first focus on directly more practical things, I plan to study from simple to complex (html, css, javascript, php, etc., and then mathematics, theory of algorithms).
I have the opportunity to 150% concentrate on my studies, devote all day to this, I speak English fluently (advanced), with English-language resources it is perhaps even more convenient for me to work, I have great experience in self-education, so I have a habit of learning, I don’t experience problems with motivation and discipline. I understand that I start late and from the very beginning, but this is an objective necessity.
The question is the following. Firstly, I would like to ask how much preparation time I need to expect, starting in programming from scratch (basic html and css does not count) to the stage when I can get a starting job as a junior developer in the field of web programming, while What is at my disposal all day? Will a year of hard work be enough for me?
Secondly, how critical is it for me to get a higher education (bachelor's or master's degree) in the field of computer science, taking into account my age and previous humanitarian background? On the one hand, I understand that the "crust" does not hurt. On the other hand, some kind of correspondence diploma, which you need to spend a lot of time at the expense of self-education and studying what is really useful, how much will it play a role in finding a job in my case?
I would appreciate answers :)

Why do you want to become a web developer? IMHO in web development there is such a spread of technologies now that you can get lost. If you pick up on the tops of HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, then you will soon reach the level of mass production of websites on WordPress (very tedious work with very high competition).
If you want to learn something serious, then start with something else. For example with programming. The same Python - will give you an excellent base and a sea of \u200b\u200bopportunities for further development. And it will allow you to quickly move on to serious development, and not rivet shitty sites.
A year may be enough to enter the junior position, if you really plow. But it will take 3 years or more to build a serious career.
A specialized higher education is not critical (unless you want to immigrate to a country where it is required). But if there is an opportunity to study without prejudice to the current work and personal life - go ahead. In a normal job search (especially in Russia) they don’t ask at all. The main thing is to show the work, GitHub with projects, i.e. show skill.
A sedentary lifestyle leaves its mark + tunnel syndrome + spine + eyes))) not everything is so smooth.

1. Everything is subjective. Everyone has their own ability to self-learning
2. Higher education is not a priority for a programmer. Mathematics and statistics help in some areas.
3. If you think that programming is not harmful to health, then you simply do not know what professional sores are in it. their shaft)

Decide on a direction so as not to learn what is not necessary.
As I understand it, WEB-programming is needed.
Option 2:
You can start from the front: html/css/js
You can start from the back: php/c#/python/go/etc.
My advice: learn what you will need in the near future and one thing, but qualitatively (so that you can code without third-party libraries and often looking at the documentation).

Advice (from the humanities to the humanities): do not spray.
If web development, then decide as soon as possible - front-end or back-end.
The work of a webmaster-universal is still in demand, but not very promising.

It depends only on the desire and the head, it is individual for everyone.
There is a parable on this topic:
Is it far?!
A man was sitting by the road, a traveler passed by and asked the sitting one:
- How long does it take to go to the city?
- Go, - the sitting one answers him.
No, you obviously don't understand me. How long does it take to get to the city?
"Go," he replied in the same way.
The traveler got angry.
- I asked you a simple question! How long does it take to get to the city?
- Go ... - still answered him sitting.
The traveler in hearts went away.
- Wait, - he suddenly heard the voice of a man sitting near the road. - It's a 6-hour walk to the city.
"So why didn't you tell me right away?"
I didn't know how fast you would go.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
