How is VirtualBox different from Sandboxie?

I just need to check a few programs. Here, in order not to catch the virus, I want to download the sandbox (I have 10 home wines, if that). Just what are the differences?
Can you name the differences between Sandboxie and VirtualBox? I only need to test whether there are viruses in the program.
One more thing, but! Here I will open the file (illustrator), but there will be no virus. I'm delighted to begin to install it on the computer, and in a week it will fly. Whether the virus on a computer can be shown in a week??? And how to check if there is a virus in the sandbox. Can an antivirus fail to detect a virus?

Can you name the differences between Sandboxie and VirtualBox?
As far as I know, Sandboxie is just containerization, that is, the programs inside work essentially with the same OS kernel, but with an isolated file system. And they work on physical hardware, which is faster, but in the case of a virus, it completely allows you to use vulnerabilities that lead to damage to hardware.
VirtualBox is a full-fledged virtualization, inside a full-fledged OS runs on emulated hardware, including not only Windows
Whether the virus on a computer can be shown in a week???
Well, for example here
And how to check if there is a virus in the sandbox.

Can an antivirus fail to detect a virus?
Maybe
PS illustrator is now distributed by subscription, you can buy for a month, do the work, and when it becomes unnecessary - just do not renew the subscription

To be afraid of wolves - do not go into the forest.
If you want without viruses - buy
it) Well, yes, theoretically, a "virus" can manifest itself in half a year.
Download a more or less adequate distribution from a torrent and don't worry

Cracks work differently. Some are just keygens, they generate code. They can be run in a sandbox\VM.
Install the program itself on the main PC (if you are sure of it; you can generally download it from offsite if the version is supported by the keygen), keygen in the sandbox, generate the code, enter it into the program, ok.
There are cracks that patch or place already patched files in the right places - if you run them in a VM / sandbox, of course, there will be no sense from them for the program installed on the main PC.
If you put everything in the VM at all - and install the program, and the crack - it will work. With a sandbox, it depends on the implementation, there are nuances.
To test whether there are viruses in the program, it is not necessary to run it, it is enough to check it with antiviruses. Threw it on virustotal - and think about which positives are correct and which are false. Well, the regular antivirus also does not sleep.
Why are you so flustered? If you have important data, it should be backed up. There should also be a fresh backup of the system. If so, it's easy to recover. Or do you have no backups? Then viruses are not the only thing that is so panicky afraid ...
