The most common tmpfs file system (temporary, existing in the OP), mounted at an early stage of boot. Serves for storing temporary files in the early stages of OS boot - pid-files, sockets, etc. Most commonly used by udev, systemd, keepalived and other early birds.
Each service creates files there as needed.
It is not clear why you want to log there? There is /var/log for this
