How is msgid formed in a syslog message?
Solaris 11 OS syslog messages are:
Oct 31 16:52:42 sudo: [ID 702911 auth.notice] vmuser : TTY=pts/2 ; PWD=/var/log ; USER=root ; TSID=000002 ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/cat /var/adm/auditlog
How ID 702911 is formed . I found out that this is a simplified hash function. But what is given to it as an input to get exactly the same number?
