How is data transferred from data providers to DMP (Data Management Plarform)?

Interested in how the technical part of data transfer is implemented. In what form data providers transmit information to DMP - they put a pixel from DMP, collect data in their database and set up integration with DMP, in other words, how the architecture of interaction between date providers and DMP is arranged, etc.
