How is a pdf created with one long page?

Set the sheet size to a few meters and go :)
On a poppy, I created it like this:
in the printer settings, I created a new type of sheet, a few meters long and A4 wide,
then I simply print to this sheet using output not to a printer, but to PDF

InDesign даёт, как максимум, 1296p (~5486мм или ~216") на 300ppi по обеим сторонам.
В PDF <1.6 максимумом были 172" (~4370мм).
PDF 1.6 разрешил использовать до 75000" (~1905км).
Sufficient sizes? But the PDF reader, I'm afraid, will not understand this, blurts out “you have 50MB per file” and goodbye idea, although even 50MB can fit a lot of things. Where can you lay them out? It is possible in indiz, but huge ones, probably programmatically, through some special libraries ...
In my opinion, it is easier and more convenient to use the continuous / continuous mode in a PDF reader.

In the example, a website page.
Everything is simple here. Install the plugin for your browser. I am using fireshot.

Free (there is a paid "Pro" version). There are versions for Firefox, Chome, IE, etc.
On the required page - click on the icon, select "grab the entire page and ..." -> "save to PDF".
Does everything on one sheet. Just checked.
