How is a map stored, for example Yandex?

It just became interesting, and I can’t even imagine. In what form does Yandex store its maps, and how does it build routes based on them?
I suppose that something like a point with coordinates and its properties, but this is a pipets what a complex mechanism if you think about it. How do they do it?

Look at OpenStreetMap, they are open
