How in demand are Microsoft technologies like Xamarin, ASP.NET in the labor market? Does it make sense to learn and use them, or is it better to turn to native tools like Android studio (java) or Swift instead of Xamarin (example)?

There are many fewer vacancies. But you need to understand that companies who write in java / .net are more stable due to the volume, plus the tasks are quite consistent. So 5-10 vacancies on .net can overlap 40-50 vacancies on php/python/ruby.
So if you take a place, you can work there steadily for 3-5 years.

USA / Australia / Canada . it is quite popular there (look at google trends).
These tools are used to develop enterprise applications. Look for serious companies that have been on the market for a long time. They are unlikely to chase trendy/hipster technologies. And it is customary to hate Windows now
