How important is it now for a novice web developer to understand SQL thoroughly?

I just learned about such a thing as ORM, and if it allows me not to learn SQL completely at the initial stages, then I will save a lot of time

What is there to learn? O_O if you know English, there are only 4 commonly used commands. CRUD, which are learned in a couple of hours or even in the process of writing. A novice weber will not write a trigger, and through the ORM you do all the same CRUD operations. You don't have to write pure SQL - it's not safe, and secondly, they won't trust you. But knowing the commands and what options you have is a must!
Otherwise, there will be a situation, as with a colleague who started with the PHP framework and when the situation required pure knowledge in PHP, he could not. Do you need this boil?

Read the history of SQL
It was originally created for NOT FOR PROGRAMMERS.
It's hard to write perfect, fast-running queries.
And just at the ordinary level, not a programmer is able to know SQL, but a manager, SQL was created for them
