How hard is wireshark to learn?

How difficult is it to master? Do I need to learn protocols to get started? If so, where to start studying them ... so as not to get lost? And is it possible to make friends with it (wireshark) with python (what libraries to use for comfortable reading of data)? .. I understand that everything is in the heap, do not judge strictly. Newbie. If you are knowledgeable on the topic, feel free to share your advice. :-)
