There was such a problem. On the raspberry is a server for a smart home. During the year, the light went out 3 times, after which the entire system and programs had to be reinstalled. There was a variant of a lithium battery and a lead one. Lithium is certainly simpler, but a dangerous thing, even with the protection that stands there. It is clear that it will work in buffer mode with a permanently connected power supply. Protection turns it off and on at the appropriate voltage. But for such a task, in my opinion, it is necessary to put double protection.
