How does Ubuntu server allocate a hard drive?

There is a computer on which Ubuntu server is installed, used with samba to store backups from windows machines. It costs 2TB HDD. It has a system and a folder of balls. How is memory allocated? Is the entire disk being used or is it partially used? How can I see the volume and sections?
Perhaps it is better to split the disk and mount most of it separately and make a folder for the balls on it?
I'm almost a kettle in linux, do not scold me much. I got such a car. Can in passing say how remotely it is convenient to administer such a ball in order to add folders and users for them, and not through editing a file?

@Looka

df -h will show structure and
size ncdu - 'du' version is useful for analyzing disk space usage (pre-install)
webmin - for remote server administration, including samba (pre-install)

Any operating system - distributes the disk as it was ordered during installation. Start by learning the commands mount, dfand du.
