The difference is that the statement "there is x in the set S OR there is x in the set T " is equivalent to the statement "there is x such that x belongs to the set S OR x belongs to the set T ", but from the statement "there is x in the set S AND there is x belonging to the set T " does not follow the statement "there exists x such that x belongs to the set S AND xbelongs to the set T ".
