How does the speed of the RT index sphinx depend on the RAM and the number of records?

The server has 96GB of RAM. There is a distributed index which consists of 16 RT indexes. What rt_mem_limit should be set in this case for each RT index if the server is planned to be used only for these purposes? The number of entries is currently 20,000,000, constantly growing (about 700,000 new ones per day), one entry takes less than half a kb (about 50-100 B).
And what other ways are there to optimize this index for maximum sampling rates?
